One-Year Visiting Appointment in English & Humanities

One-year visiting appointment in English and Humanities, preferably at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning in August 2019. Candidates should specialize in eighteenth-century and/or nineteenth-century British fiction and should demonstrate competence in the broader fundamentals of narrative form, theory, and history. The successful candidate will teach two courses in fiction (introductory and advanced) in the English department; a yearlong interdisciplinary course (Humanities 110) pedagogically focused on the development of analytical and critical skills of first-year students; and will advise year-long senior theses. Above all, we seek candidates who have a strong commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level and who are engaged in a lively and serious program of scholarship. Ph.D. preferred.
